Social Media Marketing, Social Media Audits
Before you post more, find out what's already true.
A social media audit that tells you the honest state of your presence, what's working, what's quietly wasting effort, how you stack up against competitors, and exactly what to fix first.
01Most brands post more when they should look harder
Low engagement rarely means you need to post more. It usually means something isn't working, and you haven't stopped to find out what.
More content on a weak foundation just spreads the weakness thinner. A social media audit is the pause before the push: an honest, evidence-based read of where your presence actually stands, so the next thing you do is the right thing, not just the next thing.
We don't flatter and we don't pad. You get a clear picture and a short list of what to change, ranked by what will move the needle most.
02An honest read of your current presence
We look at everything you're already doing, across every channel, and we tell you the truth about it. Profiles and bios, posting frequency and consistency, content themes, visual identity, tone of voice, engagement rates, follower growth, and how your posts actually perform against how they look. We check whether your channels agree with each other or send mixed signals. Where it's working, we say so. Where it's not, we say that too, plainly, with the data behind it.
03What's working, and what to do more of
An audit that only finds problems is half an audit. Some of what you're doing is already earning attention, a format that consistently outperforms, a topic your audience keeps engaging with, a channel quietly doing the heavy lifting. We find those and name them, because the fastest gains often come from doubling down on what already works, not inventing something new. You'll leave knowing your strengths, not just your gaps.
04What's quietly costing you
Some effort produces nothing. Some actively works against you. We flag the posts that get ignored, the channels that don't earn their upkeep, the inconsistencies that confuse your audience, and the habits that dilute your brand. This is the part most brands avoid looking at, which is exactly why it's where the easy wins hide. Cutting what doesn't work is often faster than adding something that might.
05How you compare to your competitors
You don't operate in a vacuum, so we don't audit you in one. We benchmark your presence against your competitors: how often they post, what's working for them, where their audiences engage, how they sound, and where there's a gap you can own. This shows you what's realistic in your category and surfaces openings your competitors have left wide open. Sometimes the most useful finding isn't about you at all, it's the space no one in your market is filling.
06Prioritised recommendations, not a wish list
A hundred suggestions help no one. A ranked short list does. Every finding comes with a recommendation, and every recommendation is ranked, by impact and by effort. You'll know what to fix this week, what to plan for this quarter, and what can wait. Quick wins are marked as quick wins. Bigger bets are flagged as bets. You get a sequence you can actually follow, not a document that overwhelms you into doing nothing.
07The audit is the starting point
You can't plan a route without knowing where you're standing. An audit is that fixed point. Whether you run your social media in-house or hand it to us, everything sensible starts here, with an honest baseline instead of a guess. It's why we recommend an audit before any new strategy, new agency relationship, or new budget. Decide what to do next from evidence, not from instinct or from what worked for someone else.
08What you get
A written report you'll actually use: the honest state of each channel, what's working, what isn't, how you compare to your competitors, and a prioritised action list ranked by impact and effort. We walk you through it in a session with your team, so the findings land, the priorities are clear, and your questions get answered. You leave knowing exactly where you stand and exactly what to do first. Whether we do that work together or you take it in-house is entirely your call.
FAQ
How long does a social media audit take?
Most audits take a couple of weeks, depending on how many channels you run and how much history there is to review. We'd rather be thorough than fast, a rushed audit tells you what's obvious, and you already know what's obvious. We'll give you a firm timeline once we've seen the scope, and we walk you through the findings in person rather than emailing a file and disappearing.
Will the audit tell us to stop doing things, or just do more?
Both, and often the “stop” list matters more. Plenty of brands are held back not by what they're missing but by what they should drop, channels that don't earn their keep, formats that get ignored, inconsistencies that confuse people. We'll tell you what to do more of, what to change, and what to stop entirely. An honest audit isn't a case for a bigger content calendar. Sometimes it's the opposite.
Do we have to hire you to run our social media after the audit?
No. The audit is a standalone piece of work, and the report is yours to act on however you like, in-house, with your existing team, or with us. We built it that way on purpose. If we do continue together, we're starting from a shared, honest baseline. If we don't, you still walk away knowing exactly where you stand and what to fix first. The value is in the clarity, and that's yours either way.
